Why Arabica Coffee is Worth the Premium

Understanding the difference between coffee bean varieties and why quality matters for your daily cup.

Not all coffee beans are created equal. The two main species of coffee - Arabica and Robusta - offer vastly different experiences in terms of flavor, quality, and even caffeine content.

Arabica beans, which make up about 60-70% of world coffee production, are grown at higher altitudes and require more care. This extra effort results in a smoother, more complex flavor with pleasant acidity and natural sweetness.

Robusta beans are hardier and cheaper to produce, but they come with a more bitter, harsh flavor. They contain about twice the caffeine of Arabica, which contributes to that bitter taste.

Many commercial coffee brands use Robusta or blends heavy in Robusta to reduce costs. While these coffees will wake you up, the drinking experience is far less enjoyable.

At Erector Coffee, we exclusively use premium Arabica beans. We believe that if you are going to drink coffee every day, it should be something you genuinely enjoy. Our smooth, rich flavor makes our herbal coffee blend a pleasure to drink, not just a functional necessity.
